Best pizza in NJ
Delorenzo's tomato pies are so much better than every other pizza I've ever had, it seems a waste to go anywhere else. We've had to budget ourselves to one per month.

The crust is thin and crispy and the pepporoni is thick and tasty. There are plenty of pie places in Trenton, but locals almost universally call Delorenzo's the best. This would explain several things:

The waiting line out the door, even in the rain
Patrons flocking to the joint even though it has no bathrooms
They take the phone of the hook for pick-up orders when they're too busy

Delorenzo's is closed Monday and is open only for dinner except Friday when they open for lunch.

I really can't say enough about the food except that its worth a trip from wherever you    [24 Aug 2002 10:45:59]

Last order was slightly burnt
I've written glowing words about Delorenzo's before but I must report that my last order of a veggie pie was slightly burnt. I'm sure this was just an abberation.    [24 Aug 2002 10:48:43]

Best tomato pie in Trenton along with DeLorenzo's on Hamilton Ave. Sometimes, Hudson street tomato pie is burned.    [23 Jan 2003 16:00:14]

Try the Clam Pie!
The Hudson St. clam pie is the best pie I have ever tasted. It features a perfect combination of diced garlic, clams, tomatos, cheese and spices over a thin and crispy crust. It is well worth the trip from center city Philadelphia (lack of bathrooms notwithstanding)!    [27 Jan 2003 15:14:46]

Worth the trip!
I drive an hour each month to Delorenzo's in Chambersburg. It is handsdown the best pie I've ever eaten.
Go early or you'll have to wait.    [08 Feb 2003 14:28:52]

The Two Delorenzo's
I'd like to share my opinion on the plusses and minuses of the two Delorenzo's Restaurants in Trenton. They are apparently owned by a pair of brothers who have a friendly rivalry going on.

Both Delorenzo's make what I would consider the best pizzas I've ever had. There are differences, though. The Hudson St. pizzas seem to come out with a crispier crust then the Hamilton Ave. location. However, the Hamilton Ave. location's crust has much more depth of flavor than the Hudson St. crust. The pizza sauce is also different. The Hudson St. location apparently uses crushed tomatoes, while the Hamilton Ave. location adds additional flavors to the tomatoes (garlic? salt? who knows?) but again, the taste is more complex and possesses a greater depth than at the Hudson St. Location.

In short, my ideal pizza would be prepared at Hamilton Ave. and cooked at Hudson St. Both make amazing pizzas, so try both and come to your own conclusion.    [10 Nov 2003 08:00:59]

A Mouthwatering Trenton Tradition
Thin, crispy crust; sweet, perfectly seasoned tomato; and just the right amount of cheese makes for a tomato pie "purist's" delight! I've been savoring Delorenzo's tomato pie since I was old enough to knaw on crust (a relatively long time). In all my years - and travels - I've never had a pie (pizza or otherwise) that can even come close to the perfection that is Delorenzo's! Mangia!    [17 Nov 2003 22:33:07]

DeLorenzo's Hudson Street Is Best Pizza In The Northeast
The tomato pie at DeLorenzo's is the best pizza in the entire Northeast. Nothing compares with it. Plain, pepperoni, onion, sausage -- you name it. It's all good. We've eaten there for years, and compared to all the others -- from Boston to Washington DC -- it's the best.    [18 Dec 2003 14:25:49]

Hands Down, nothing better
I drive from Baltimore (home of the worst pies on the planet) on a semi-regular basis to get a fix. Perfect crust, delicious toppings, and one of a kind atmosphere. Bring a bottle of wine, and be prepared to wait.    [01 Jan 2004 18:37:15]
