Description
Part of a chain. Mostly grill fare, with steaks, large variety of salads, some chicken dishes, a little fish, a little Mexican, fancy appetizers. Dining room has automobile motif. Has large bar in the center of the dining room. Has call-ahead "Carside to go" for takeout. Has happy hour.

Best Chain Restaurant in Town.....so far I am a regular at Applebee's. I've never had a bad meal here. It's busy all the time, so it is popular here. I normally sit at the bar, but no matter where I've sat, the service has always been the best. The wait staff and bartenders are friendly and fast. Chili's will open next door, so I wonder if that will become my next favorite! [23 Jan 2005 18:35:02]

Good, reliable American restaurant The food is good here, but I always feel like they are struggling, unsuccessfully, to make their food stand out from the competition. The menu tends toward ordinary dishes with some special topping or seasoning, for example, the "cheese fries" have shredded parmesan instead of melted cheddar or American cheese.
The full-size salads really are unusual, and very good. The steaks are traditional (except for a few with strange toppings) and are very good too. The burgers also have strange toppings but are unremarkable.
The central bar gives the whole place a pub atmosphere in the evenings, but it is unobtrusive at lunch.
This restaurant is very similar to the Chili's two blocks away. Both have good service and good food, and prices are about the same. I like the Chili's better because it has a much more varied menu, also because it has a calmer atmosphere and less obtrusive service. [23 Nov 2007 14:28:40]
