Didn't get a chance
Stopped to try the custard, sat in line at the drive in for 10 minutes while one customer was at the pick-up window. I watched 3 other employees standing around talking, and not one took the time to come to the order window to at least take my order. Two things were evident; no employee initiative, bad managment. Caliche's Frozen Custard was fantastic
I finally went to Caliche's after the "grand opening" crowd had subsided. The service was great and the custard and food was even better. I would recommend this establishment to others!    [14 Nov 2004 19:42:32]

Great for quick dessert
My husband and I had dessert here one night to try it out after the grand opening had passed. We were surprised, even with the prices being a little high for a dessert, we got a lot for what we paid for. Service was on the slow side and I guess that's to be expected out of teenagers working behind the counter (no disrespect to teenagers, I was one once, myself!).    [08 Jan 2005 10:51:04]

My whole family have gone to Caliche's not once but six times since they opened. We have gone to the one in Alamogordo before going to Ruidoso. and we love it-- big portions, good food. Yes, you have to wait a little but it is worth it.    [14 Feb 2005 17:58:27]

I like this place!
I have only been to Caliche's once since they opened in Alamogordo, New Mexico. I love their various ice cream treats there! I will visit Alamogordo later this summer and stop by Caliche's again to enjoy another ice cream cone treat on those hot summery evenings there!    [20 Apr 2007 19:43:08]
