Nice Atmosphere, Rotten Food and Service My business associate and I called on a prospective client in Albuquerque this summer. Our concierge suggested Antiquity as an alternative to the most excellent dining establishment in our lodgings. We arrived unannounced at approximately six thirty and were informed that it would be ay least thiry minutes before a table would be ready depsite the fact that the restaurant was deserted. We inquired as to the location of a bar to enjoy a libation and were vaguely directed to a place which turned out to be closed. We strolled around the town square and arrived back only to be told it would be a bit longer. After a protratced wait, we were ushered into a cramped and somewhat dirty booth in the middle of the restaurant. My associate ordered a steak as an entree and I ordered some salmon with a mushroom appetizer. My mushrooms were incinerated and the fish was so dry as to be unpalatable. The coffee, which was ordered in lieu of dessert was pedestrian. The wine list here was unremarkable. We certainly will avoid this place in our future trips. [11 Sep 2003 01:16:40]

Best Restaurant in Albuquerque We have been to Antiquity at least a dozen times; each time, each one resulted in a delightful experience. The food, especially the steaks are the best ever -- melt in your mouth with fabulous sauces. The atmosphere is romantic -- yes it is a small restaurant and rather old so the floor isn't completely level in places, but it is so charming with an excellent staff. [01 Oct 2003 22:25:48]

Antiquity Restaurant In Albuquerque, New Mexico While I have heard from numerous people that Antiquity is the place to dine, I must admit that although the food was preaty good, it was somewhat difficult to enjoy as the entire restaurant was extremely hot. I am not sure what type of cooling system the place uses, but it was evident that it did not work very well. My server seemed to be sweating excessively and both my date and I could barely enjoy our meals because of the intense heat. Until the cooling system is made to actually cool down the place, I do not recommend this place during the summertime months. I am sure that during the seasons of fall, winter, and spring would be much nicer to go to Antiquity! [27 Aug 2006 18:02:29]

Good Food, Mediocre Service My husband I chose Antiquity for our first anniversary dinner. We expected a lot, but received less than what we anticipated.
Our waiter leaned on the table while he rattled off the specials of the evening in a monotone, never once making eye contact. Perhaps we drew the short straw in waitstaff, as we observed other waiters who were engaged and attentive.
We were also expecting more of an elegant, quiet setting. Our fellow diners were well into their cups and the atmosphere was quite raucous for a restaurant that purports to be quiet and romantic. The overall ambiance was more of an upscale Denny's than what we anticipated.
The food was quite delicious. Nothing was overcooked, and the presentation was simple but pleasing. The Chateaubriand could have been more distinctively seasoned, but still very good.
So long as you don't expect the type of dining experience for the relatively steep price as you would have in anywhere other than Albuquerque, known for its laidback atmosphere, you will be pleased with Antiquity. [25 Feb 2007 13:06:30]
