Great Green Chili Cheeseburger Best green chile cheeseburger. Excellent service. They also have tremendous fries. Order the "small" as it will be enough to fill you. They also have steaks and chicken fried steak. Check out the bar, it is one of a kind.
Does not look fancy from the outside. Is absolutely worth a visit! [04 Jan 2007 23:14:49]

Outpost Bar & Grill Have been there a couple times riding from Austin, TX. through N.M.
What a great green chile burger !!!
Cold beer, nice people that will gladly point you in the right direction if needed, and a cool little bar to sit at and enjoy the burger, beer and music off the juke box !! [27 Jul 2007 12:29:02]

The Outpost vs Manny's vs The Owl, Trust Me I took a road trip to see for myself who has the best green chile cheeseburgers in this part of New Mexico. Manny's Buckhorn has the best green chile far and away. Their bun is crummy and the burger not large, but it is very good. An 8.5 on a scale of ten. The Owl's burger has nothing really to recommend it. It is ok but nothing special. Rate it a decent 7.0 out of ten. The big man-sized burger at the Outpost is clearly a superior sandwich with good fixings, but their green chile is lacking, the only disappointment. I rate the burger an 8.5, tied with Manny's. The Outpost has a better burger patty and bun, but inferior chile. The great fixins, however, with a mayo-based sauce included, make up for this. As far as the Outpost itself, it is a little nicer inside than you might expect. Some elderly patrons were eating lunch and not your usual bar types. The woman waiting tables and tending bar was friendly. Not a bad place. I am looking forward to eating at the famous BobCat Bite which may have the world's best green chile cheeseburger. The three I sampled on this road trip are not it (although Manny's and The Outpost are very good!). [17 Jul 2008 17:30:42]
