Good Food, Limited Menu,
Tortilleria Susy in Chaparral is what you might expect in that location. The service is friendly enough and the food is good, but don't expect any kind of sophistication. There are about eight tables on the side of a little mini-mart type of store. Some baked goods were left out in the open and the place did not appear that clean. If you are not a regular the place doesn't inspire confidence! The gentleman at the counter was friendly and helpful...a nice guy. The cook who brought the meal out spoke very little English. I did not hear much English spoken in the entire place. I had to ask for a knife and fork with my burritos as one was so full of sauce it was impossible to eat by hand. The chips were quite unique and very good...as was the salsa verde. Nice heat and flavor to the salsa. The deshebrada and chile relleno burritos were very good. The prices were almost unbelievably cheap...$1.99 for a big burrito! OK place if you are hungry in Chaparral, but you don't want to go out of your way to eat here.    [05 Jun 2007 21:51:50]
