Cold Beer, NM I spent a wonderful day at Cold Beer, NM talking with ranchers from the area and had a pretty darn good green chile cheeseburger. Cold beer, great company, and good music in the evening. Not many of these Mom & Pop places left. [19 Mar 2002 22:11:35]

Hot time in Cold Beer, NM The beer was cold and the music was hot at the Colfax Tavern 26 April as the Tavern had it's first dance of the year. Rosie Flores and her band were excellent. The women from around this part of the country are more than willing to dance and have a good time. The taveren is full of friendly folks, all having a great time. What a great, great evening. Nothing like a good ole honky tonk! [02 May 2002 17:06:31]

My wife and I have been there twice and both times we found it friendly and the beer cold. I haven't eaten there but it is a fun laid back place to kill a few hours. [16 Jul 2003 20:54:27]

What about Sister? I have been to Cold Beer on a few occaisions when I worked in Cimarron at the Philmont Scout Ranch. The thing I remember most is the owner had a dog named Sister that had the run of the place. I think he even sold t-shirts with her picture on them. Well worth the stop. In the middle of nowhere, but how fortunate the persons are who get to live and work in such an amazing area. [22 Dec 2005 14:34:58]

I can't wait My father grew up in nearby Maxwell, and my grandfather worked the coal mines near Raton. Years later, The Colfax Tavern remains a must when we visit. Its easy to waste the day just sitting in the sun... I love this place. [20 Feb 2007 22:58:18]
