Great food Sometimes at this restaurant you may see someone famous, Julia Roberts. The food is great, they even have home-made preserves to go with your sopaipilla. [16 Oct 2002 01:39:20]

It was the greatest restaurant I've ever been at I would recommend it to anybody I know. My associates and I were very thrilled with the handsome bartender. [06 Mar 2003 16:49:01]

The atmosphere of this hacienda style restaurant, is both charming and welcoming. The service is great, and more importantly, the food is wonderful! [16 Jul 2003 11:31:50]

What's happening to this place? The past two times that my family and I have eaten there the service was bad. Both times we ordered simple meals, and yet waited one hour to receive it. Anyone can park in the handicapped zone, minors have been seen sitting at the bar, the waitresses have failed to provide the manager twice and expressed fear of getting fired. My family and I have decided to no find a better place for our get togethers. Let's not forget their dirty bathrooms. [23 Feb 2004 01:23:29]

A classic El Paragua is a classic old family-owned, family-friendly restaurant. There is a huge shed row smokehouse out back, beside the ample parking area. The interior has marvelous local flavor: vigas, whitewash, hand painted tiles, old photos and other interesting objects. The food is delicious and abundant. On occasion the wait staff have been young and inexperienced, but this has been the exception, not the rule.
This is a great place to bring out-of-town visitors. [30 Mar 2006 17:53:09]

Great Food I learned about it while playing golf with a couple from Los Alamos at nearby Black Mesa. The food was great, the Carne Adovada was excellent. [21 Sep 2006 11:03:03]

Not what it used to be Ate here a few nights back, what's happened to this place? It used to be the best food choice for at least 20 miles. I had the chorizo enchiladas; the chorizo was very very dry, and the chile is nowhere near the quality I had fond memories of.
Even worse, the service was abysmal. Maybe it was short-staffed? Our margaritas didn't come out until our meal was almost served, and I'm sure my margarita did not contain the tequila I ordered.
I'm going to stay away from here for the time being, until I start hearing better things. [12 Feb 2007 11:43:16]
Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Do not order the chorizo enchiladas.

I would have to say it is an excellent place to eat. I love the food, and every time I have been there the service has been great and good to me and the people I'm seated with. I used to work there and at the time I didn't enjoy it too much, but now I wanna go!!!! [16 Mar 2007 16:43:23]

Don't eat here The food was OK, but extremely overpriced. Management was extremely rude and my whole experience here was less than mediocre. I was tremendously dissatisfied and expected a lot more. The ambiance is supposed to be hacienda style but to me it was just plain old- not antique and extremely dirty. My suggestion would be: clean your restaurants and think about your customers more- remember without them you can't run a business. I will never go back to any of their restaurants and I would highly recommend you not go either!!
