Great Mexican Food
El Plato Mexicano one of the best plates that serve this location, Menudo, and Tortas. Nice place to eat alone or with family.    [27 Dec 2006 20:05:15]

Ok little Restaurant...bad restrooms!
El Mexicano in Hatch is a little Mexican restaurant with fairly good Mexican and New Mex cuisine. The chips were OK and the salsa real good...flavorful and spicy, just the way we like it! The gordita was mediocre. It was not robust or very flavorful, and it was full of grease or oil: my fingers were covered with the oil after eating it. There is no comparison to the gorditas at the Little Diner in Canutillo, Saenz Gorditas in Las Cruces, and many other places. The taco was strictly mediocre...hard shell like right out of the Old El Paso box. I don't understand this: Why do they not sell "real" tacos in a place that is suppose to be estilo Mexicano??? The chile relleno was pretty good...very flavorful Hatch chile.
The service was from one woman running the whole place. It was acceptable, but no follow ups. The cooking and preparation of the meal was a little slow. Prices like all places in Hatch were very reasonable. The restaurant was not the cleanest place around and the restrooms were pretty bad...watch out.    [31 Jul 2007 17:46:00]
