NOT A Birthday Celebration
We took our father to the Hobbs Cattle Baron restaurant for his 79th Birthday. We told our hostess, waitress and drink waitress that it was his birthday. We never received acknowledgement or a Happy Birthday. (In the past, they have served a complimentary desert on Birthdays.) No wonder Chili's and Applebee's is stealing their business. Also, the tossed salad was gritty, as though the lettuce was unwashed.    [27 Dec 2003 23:28:24]

Best steak ever
Cattle Baron has the most amazing food I have ever tasted. I am from Australia but lived in Hobbs for 9 months. A fellow Australian, a Scot and myself ate there once a week religiously. The salad bar was always so fresh and the range of salads was amazing. My steaks, rarely needing to be re-cooked, were the most succulent steaks I have ever tasted. And to add to it the gravy and hot bread always topped the meal off perfectly. I am back in Australia now and crave "CB" desperately. The service was always commendable.    [30 Jun 2006 09:01:19]

Great Food!
I was there on business and there isn't much around Hobbs to eat so I thought I would give this place a try. I had the 14 ounce peppered ribeye and loved it! I highly recommend this restaurant! The service was just fine too!    [10 Jul 2007 15:53:41]
