This restaurant is GREAT, the perfect example of New Mexican cuisine. I highly recommend the fajitas, chicken stuffy, and the huevos rancheros... Best Mexican Restaurant in Las Vegas, maybe even in New Mexico
I live in Las Vegas and my wife and I frequent many of our restaurants. Kocina de Raphael is our favorite. The Mexican food at this restaurant is exceptional, it is prepared and tastes just like my mother used to make it.    [10 Sep 2003 16:57:13]

Damn these are some good vittles...
This restaurant is family-owned, which adds to the already charming ambiance. The food goes without saying. I have been in the restaurant business for over 8 yrs., and have never craved food such as I did at Kocina de Raphael. The portions are well worth the $; leaving one with lunch/dinner leftovers. The restaurant is by far the best in all of New Mexico. As a frequent visitor to LV I was told to visit this place. I was told the menudo was the best in town, so I took the advice from a resident, but to my dismay the menudo was the worst I have ever tasted. "YUCK" The tripe was not fully cooked nor was there any posole as I had requested. The wait staff was fair but did not once visit us. Yes I was with my father; he was a bit upset, but he reluctantly paid the bill. No tip was left either. We should have not paid the bill, but I didn't want to make a scene.
