The Best This is definitely the best Chinese food in New Mexico. Its prices are about average compared to other Chinese restaurants, but the quality of food is far superior. [28 Jul 2004 14:25:34]

Bad Management I have had the terrible experience of being yelled at by the owner/person at the front desk for not tipping the waiters sufficiently after the buffet we had there. This was after we waited for 10 min for a table, got a table, waited another 10 min for a server to show up, and then helped ourselves to the buffet. We had drinks almost 25 min into our lunch and then had to pay directly at the front desk!
Tip, for what? [23 Feb 2006 15:04:07]

The Best? Not! Prices are higher than at the other two Chinese restaurants in Los Alamos (Chinshan and China Moon), but the food is not as good. The lunch buffet selection is much smaller than at China Moon, but a little larger than at Chinshan. [30 Mar 2006 16:55:39]

Here is one place that SHOULD close One restaurant that should close down--China Palace in Los Alamos. Food sucks. Management sucks even more. Ambiance-- dark and claustrophobic. [16 Jul 2006 15:58:23]

Don't Go There. High prices, small portions and rude manager We found the portions were too small for the pricing. The waitress was marginal, i.e. we felt fortunate when she brought us a small glass of water then took our orders. The food was served piecemeal (all entrees were not served simultaneously). The food was somewhat tasty, but there was a cloud cast over the whole experience due to the fact that the manager (who was also the cashier) became hostile when he was asked to please split the bill up so we could each get receipts for the meal for tax purposes. I politely asked him what the tax rate in New Mexico was, and he did not know the answer and he became extremely hostile and very unprofessional. It was very appalling. The only way I would dine there again was if they were the only Chinese restaurant within 60 miles. They are not. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone until the personnel are properly trained in customer service and customer relations. [11 Sep 2006 21:00:36]

good food, bad service The food is good, portions a little small. The waitress we had was extremely rude. As a former waitress, I would never treat a customer like she did. Make sure you have cash if you go there after 9pm because they won't accept a credit/debit card. I was extremely annoyed by her shortness and refusal to take my credit card. I believe that she just didn't want to make more work for herself by taking a credit card. [02 Jul 2007 14:40:19]
