!Please! !No Mas! If I wasn't so lazy, I'd just drive down the hill to Espanola and eat at El Paragua. But after a long day at work, my family and I stopped at De Colores. Big mistake! We've given De Colores as many as 20 chances since they've reopened at their new location. When they first reopened, the excuse for the cold, underseasoned food which sometimes took as long as 1 hour to receive was that they were so overwhelmed by the amount of business they were doing. This was expressed to me by a lady identifying herself as the manager, Sue. I suggested that they not seat as many people as they were, so that they may serve few people delicious food. She smiled and walked away... On subsequent visits, the crowds that were there when they first opened seem to have disappeared, yet the food still comes out cold, sometimes inedible, always bland, and lately, with a few surprises. We've found hair, plastic, pieces of steel wool, and a pebble in our food during the last year. All these things considered, along with the slow service from kids who seem like the only thing they care about is their tip, and the cold, uninviting atmosphere (I thought Mexican Restaurants were supposed to be bright and colorful, especially if the name is De Colores!) has driven my family off the hill. I'm just not as brave as I used to be! [05 Aug 2005 18:03:01]

Much better now My friends & I also encountered some problems when dining at De Colores after the big move. Those problems seem to be resolved now & I go regularly & always take visitors. My favorite dish - blue corn green chile chicken enchiladas with an egg on top is excellent here & the rellenos are now delicious. The views from the dining room of the canyon & mountains to the east are spectacular. [28 Mar 2006 19:25:02]

A Los Alamos Constant! De Colores has been here for 28 years they must be doing something right. My favorite dish the Fiesta Chicken Salad with green chile vinaigrette dressing (they should bottle it). The staff is friendly, know our names & what we like. Have had some small problems but they take care of it quickly. Service is fast, food is good, and as always they are glad to see us. [04 Oct 2006 04:41:33]
