Very Nice Atmosphere One of the things that I really like about dining in Los Lunas is the home-converted-into-a-restaurant atmosphere that is prevalent in the area. And, whereas Mi Chante is perhaps the exception, the ambiance is still there with the the hard wood floors and latillas shutters in the multiple rooms throughout the restaurant.
From the exterior, one would think that this restaurant is on the high end of fine dining. The truth is that it is one of Los Lunas' better 'values'.
With smaller prices come smaller portions - a welcome to those who end up spending $20 for an entre' and either leaving half or taking half home, and a disappointment to those who like to gorge.
Menu selection is limited. The Lunch menu has more selections than the dinner menu (only 8 items), but we had no trouble ordering off the lunch menu at dinner time.
They also seem to close a bit early - around 8PM.
One of my biggest complaints, though, is that if a restaurant is going to make something different than the rest of the world is used to, it should be notated on the menu. For example, their enchiladas are probably very authenticly Mexican, but around these parts, people don't expect an open face enchilada. They were good, but not what we expected. The fajitas were only $9, but were small and though the menu said that "all items above served with two sides and sopapillas", if you get the sopas, you don't get the flour tortillas for the fajitas. Rice and beans with the fajitas are also considered the "two sides".
Again, the value is terrific, but the menu may lead you into thinking you are getting more that you really will. Family of 4 plus a baby had a nice meal for $35 with tax and tip. [24 Mar 2006 12:39:31]

decent food Good food but watch your credit card amount closely; just cause it's a few dollars (3.10) doesn't make it right. [19 Jul 2008 19:02:04]

Was never seated..... My wife & I were told to sit because there was a long waiting list, but we were never put on this list. We waited patiently for 15 minutes and another couple walked in & were immediately greeted by a hostess & seated. Very disorganized & poor management of service. I've been to other restaurants in Los Lunas and have never had an experience like this. [11 Oct 2008 14:44:07]
