Lorenzo's de Mesilla Rules!
The pizza was excellent (we had the Mediterranean). Pitchers of really good beer, decent wine list, nice atmosphere, a very nice dining experience. We liked it so much we went back a second nite. Other entrees were very good too.

Pretty Good Southern Italian Cuisine
Lorenzo's de Mesilla is a nice restaurant on the outskirts of Historic Mesilla. Nothing too fancy: the atmosphere is pleasant enough and the service pretty good. The wine was good, the mozzarella sticks and sauce pretty good, the sides of salad not distinguished, very ordinary, somewhat disappointing. The menu is mostly southern Italian-- heavy on the tomato sauce and cheese. The marinara sauce was pretty nicely flavored, the eggplant and chicken parmagiana pretty good and a large portion. The green chile lasagna was delicious. All-in-all, a nice dining experience. The restaurant is not a top-of-the-line Italian restaurant by any stretch of the imagination, neither in atmosphere, service, or food, but it is a decent place to enjoy a nice Italian meal. Prices are reasonable. Bonus: nice view of the Organ Mountains at sunset.    [02 Mar 2006 21:52:13]
