If you love enchiladas....
Although it's been a few years since I last ate here, Oct. 2001 to be exact, I still recall how good the enchiladas were and how friendly the owner Lupe and her family were to me!!

First off, let me start off by talking about the enchiladas. Funny thing is, I never order them at a Mexican restaurant and to this day don't really know why I ordered them there. Maybe because I was in New Mexico and it's kind of a staple there, or maybe because I was in an adventurous mood that day and wanted to try something different. Or maybe both! Either way, I took the plunge and ordered them. And boy was I glad I did, they were simply out-of-this-world! What made them so memorable? Probably the green chiles. I say the green chiles because they gave them that extra kick. They weren't spicy hot like some people might imagine them to be, they were more like flavor enhancers, kind of like how mushrooms are used to give a meal that extra something.

It should be noted at the time since I never had a red or green chile before I had to ask what the difference was. The red chiles were hotter, I was told, so naturally I picked the green chiles which were a little milder. I must have really been enjoying myself because I remember the lady at the table next to me inquired what I was having. She didn't know about the chiles either, so naturally I explained the difference to her. Which reminds me, I think I was so enamored with this place not only because of the food but because this tiny unpretentious place was so informal it was natural to talk to the table next to you. Something you never see in a big city restaurant!

All I can say is, only in New Mexico!
