Real working bakery. Wonderful light fare.
Sage Bakehouse happens to make some of the best bread anywhere, which is a good thing if you are in the mood for a sandwich-- and the sandwiches are, indeed, wonderful. My personal favorite is the chicken on paisano bread, but the others I have tried have also been excellent. There is a vegetarian sandwich, which is splendid. The coffee and espresso are done right. There are also delicious little quiches and a number of sweet baked goods such as filled croissants and small torts. This is a real working bakery and for those electing to eat inside, the bakers tending the large oven provide a fascinating entertainment.    [30 Jul 2006 13:43:31]
