A Landmark Since Route 66 Days! In my experience, this is the best food in Santa Rosa since the 60's (old Route 66), if not earlier. A little out of the way now, but just take the business route from I-40 through this small community, and you'll see Joseph's. The Mexican food is tops, but American offerings are very good also. Friendly, folksy, atmosphere. Clean! [10 Feb 2004 13:17:34]

Best in Santa Rosa Decor is 1940s WWII memorabilia. Good selection of Mexican food and American. Menu is a newspaper. On the back you learn about the Blue Hole, etc. There is a nice biography of the family. [31 Oct 2004 20:53:40]

Great Green Chile A great place for lunch. The place is a true highway diner and everyone we saw was bragging about their food. We had enchiladas and both varieties were terrific. [24 Jul 2005 14:22:49]

Hair in my food I was very disappointed with the food and service. I found a hair in my green chile enchiladas. I complained to the Manager Mr. Jose Campos. Mr. Campos explained that hair nets are used and that the hair was mine. I am bald and have no hair.
We got up to leave and still had to pay for the Green Chile Hair Enchiladas.
The health inspector really needs to visit Joseph's Restaurant in Santa Rosa.
I usually don't comment. However, when we still had to pay for the Green Chile HAIR Enchiladas, it made me very upset. [09 Jun 2006 12:33:38]

Joseph's is Great People who complain and want a free meal because of a hair in their food just need to stay home. This is a wonderful place that harkens to the mid 20th century. We love the red chile burritos. Please don't let 1 bad review discourage you from trying this place. Don't let our country become a bunch of McDonalds.!! [30 Jun 2006 08:56:11]

Joseph's is a very dirty restaurant Went in and just got sick of the smell coming form the very dirty restrooms. Flies, dirt and gum are everywhere. We were disappointed knowing that the mayor of Santa Rosa owned this place. We expected at least a clean place to eat. [12 Sep 2007 18:08:19]

Couldn't even get served! We TRIED to eat here on January 2nd, 2008. We were led to a sticky-table booth and given menus (but no water). There were four other tables occupied, no one had food. From the kitchen we heard loud screaming and laughing (like kids partying). One couple got bored and went into the gift shop about ten feet away; in a few minutes, a server shouted at them "your food!", slammed it on the table and left. We tried to get his attention to take our order, but he went back to the kitchen party. No one ever came to take our order! We asked another table if their order had been taken, and they said "no - and we were here before you!" That was it. We got up and left. Very strange experience!
This is NOT a genuine old Route 66 place -- they just bought the old "Fat Man" logo from the historic restaurant that travellers read about. [25 Mar 2008 23:08:39]
