The Best New Mexican Burgers Three sizes of burgers from this Albuquerque based chain. Also Chicken, Fish, Hot Dogs, and a version of Bar-Be-Que. Always good. Service can be a little slower than the usual "fast-food" places, because everything is made to order...not pre-cooked! Onion rings are especially tasty. [10 Feb 2004 14:28:36]

I probably won't ever go back ... At around 6:30 pm on September 22, 2006, my boyfriend and I experienced very poor customer service at this restaurant. We were looking forward to having some delicious Lotaburgers (because they usually are very delicious), but after we placed our order, it became apparent that the cashier and manager were having trouble with the cash register. We were not informed about the nature of the problem, but since they'd prepared our order anyway, we waited (along with several other customers) for the problem to be resolved so that we could pay and leave with our food. At 7:20 - nearly an hour later! - another manager finally arrived and opened the register. Since the problem seemed to be fixed, I asked her to make our order again because it had been sitting there for a long time and was probably cold. As they began preparing our new order, she informed me that the total was $18-something. I handed her my Visa check card, which I'd been holding in my hand - in plain view - the entire time we were waiting. She then told me that they were unable to take a card - that it was the problem they were having with the cash register. She asked if I still wanted the order, and I said "Yes, but I don't have cash." She very rudely and abruptly said, "Well we can't do it then." I am very disappointed that we waited so long, with virtually no communication from Lotaburger staff, and no one ever informed us that we wouldn't be able to use the Visa check card I was holding. We also never received an apology. After leaving that night, I felt like I'd been treated with great disrespect and disregard to my feelings and our wasted time. The store manager was flippant towards us, after we'd spent an hour waiting to be honest customers by paying for our food.
