I would like to recommend the Trading Post Cafe in Taos, New Mexico. Mediterranean style food. Dishes that I have not seen since I returned to the US, with 2 years in Italy and 5 in Spain. This is the best restaurant I have found in NM and one of the best anywhere in the US
[Note from reviewer on 12/14/06: I wrote the first review, however neither the quality nor the service are what they were when I wrote it. Still good but no longer outstanding. jack@arco-iris.com.] [09 Feb 2000 14:46:24]

Great food, lots of atmosphere and hospitality On an exceptionally busy Saturday night our party of eight received excellent service and tried a variety of dishes. The appetizers alone would almost have been enough for a meal and we passed them around before the main courses arrived. Just when you think you can't find room for dessert, our waitress brought out an irresistable tray and we all dug in. Excellent coffee, by the way, from a local roaster. A friendly, attentive staff, and a visit to our table by the owner ensured a memorable evening. [16 Nov 2005 17:45:18]

Never again Spinach salad with a tomato dressing? And raisins out of a box and pine nuts? Awful. Very nice pork chop served in a bowl? Nowhere to cut the thing. Why not a plate?
My husband ordered a pasta bolognese and got pasta with tomato sauce. Not the same thing.
Won't do that again. [24 Nov 2006 01:33:10]
