GREAT PLACE
Visiting in Carson City and read on the Internet about the Cracker Box. A small place, but great food. The home made hash for breakfast is the best I have had. It is made with some potatoes, but mostly meat topped with some green onions. The home fries that come with the breakfasts are very good, also with green onions and a few tomatoes. For lunch, the fries are outstanding as well as good food all around. The fries are coated in a fine batter and cooked in a fryer.    [23 Aug 2005 15:58:10]

The Food was Awful
I ordered a bacon spinach omlet and the bacon was rancid and the home fries that came with it were all soggy. When I left all my clothes smelled like the grease thay used to cook all the food.    [31 Jan 2006 15:55:46]

I'm all for a crunchy coating on breakfast potatoes sometimes, but all around, the Cracker Box home fries are just about the best I've ever had and one of the reasons I go there for breakfast.    [16 Oct 2006 19:00:57]

YES, the place really is GREASY
I really cannot see what the attraction of this place is. The food is is OK, not the greatest breakfast or lunch, and expensive for what it is. The main complaint is the smell of grease in the air from the kitchen, I come out of that place with all my clothes smelling like grease.
