Great Food and Wonderful Folks
We ate dinner at the Star two nights in a row....Ohmygawd, the food! What impressed us the most was the friendly staff. Natalie was a delight behind the bar and owner Miquel so hospitable. This place was the greatest and we plan on a return visit very soon to try LUNCH.    [06 Apr 2004 21:45:54]

I go there everytime I visit
I recently moved out of Elko and I crave their food, I miss Miguel (the owner and best bartender) and all of the servers, I have never been treated so well :) I am planning a vacation their in about a month and I will definitely be there... Good food
The food was great! Like any Basque family dining everything was plentiful, but the main dish was simply outstanding! I had cod that was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The best cod I have ever had, and definitively one of the best fish dishes. The salad dressing was amazing, I wish I had the recipe...

There are a few other restaurants I'd like to visit in Elko, and that is the only reason I will not return to the Star Hotel next time I am there.    [28 Jun 2005 11:28:55]

Top Ten in the West
Dined two nites in a row - bar staff, wait staff, food, salad, bread, entrees and service incredible! Waited a short time at the bar, enjoyed a few cocktails and had wine with dinner- very reasonable. Planning a trip in Dec. again.    [30 Mar 2006 13:39:20]

The Most Incredible Food Ever
I spent one month in Elko, NV in June 2003 on business. Simply put, it is the finest food I have ever eaten. The staff is wonderful, and the locals are among the friendliest people I have ever met in my life.    [22 Apr 2006 11:27:46]

Star Steak Sandwich ROCKS!
My husband takes my best friend to lunch here when he has training in Elko. They love eating there and both love the steak sandwich. Its a normal busy place at lunch but the atmosphere is welcoming and food is great.    [22 Aug 2006 07:41:57]

Since 1910... The Star
What a place. Once known for being on the "wrong side of the tracks"... I first went into The Star in the 1960s and now and again in the '70s. Arrived there on our trip around NV and made a dash for The Star. The food was just as I remembered it, GREAT! Best place in eastern Nevada.    [12 Feb 2007 19:29:51]
