Adios (with extreme prejudice) to Aloha
Perhaps the most unappetizing all you can eat sushi restaurant in Reno. The prevailing ambiance of this place is odoriferous filth.

I started off with mackerel which was dry and smelled of ammonia. The eel would have been tasteless except for the noxious teriyaki sauce the chef slathered on it.

Many of the Maki were made in the back--out of sight of the patrons--presumably because a look at the quality of the ingredients and incompetency of the chefs might give even the most determined gourmand pause.

The nori, rather than being crisp and delicious, has the texture and taste of a tamale husk.

I could go on, but you get the idea. This place would be a ripoff if the food was free.    [18 Feb 2005 20:09:42]

Goodbye, Sayonara Sushi!
This restaurant is, as of Feb 2005, a sushi restaurant. Of the few all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants in Reno, this place is definitively the worst I have ever been to.

The service is incredibly slow, the sushi comes out even slower. We had to wait nearly an hour for our nigiri orders to arrive, and only after chasing down the owner, and once they've tried to fill you up on rolls and you insist on ordering more nigiri sushi, they bring out the poorer quality fish.

I would highly recommend ANY other sushi restaurant in Reno. The owners are far more concerned with their own profits than providing good customer service and ensuring repeat visitors.

I have gone back a couple times hoping that they would redeem themselves, but this last visit is definitely my last.    [26 Feb 2005 21:14:25]
