Inconsistent to the Extreme I have been there several times and had pretty good food several times. However, the last time will really be the last time. I paid top dollar for really awful food and poor service. The fish was overcooked as well as the sugar 'snap' peas and potato. The peas especially were so limp they were rendered inedible and the potato was literally charred on the bottom. It was as if the meal had been sitting there for hours on the stove waiting. That may have indeed been the case given how long we had to wait. [25 Oct 2003 14:27:08]

Charming, Friendly, Warm. Our 26th aniversary dinner. We picked the place off the Web. Never been there or heard of it before. We had the New England chowder and their Long Island Chowder. Both were excellent with lots of stock and served nice and hot. The Captain's Medley was delicious. We also had the shrimp scampy. Also cooked to perfection. The salads were fresh and the bread was warm. Waitress was informative and friendly. [21 Aug 2004 21:35:04]

A Disappointing Use of a Charming Location On a sunny summer day, a lunch on the porch can be delightful; it doesn't much matter what you eat (which is lucky, since the food here is mediocre) because the village scene overlooked by the porch is so picturesque. Inside, though, the dining room decor is tired and the food is forgettable. An often-noisy bar caters to patrons that in later hours can disturb both diners and (on exiting) the neighborhood as well. Bellport, although a small village, has much better restaurants to offer. [30 Aug 2006 18:34:39]

Amazing! Been here on many times and for large and small parties. Service is wonderful and food it delicious. The Bistro shrimp and the seafood medley are great. Nightly specials are also nice to add something different to the menu [21 Jul 2007 02:35:59]
