Cobble Hill Favorite
This is one of my favorite restaurants, mainly because it survived the sweep of the ultra-trendy, pricey, Manhattan-like intruders to neighboring Smith Street. I prefer a quaint, friendly place like Carciofo. The food is delectable, and the service is equally perfect. They have a variety of wines on their ever-changing wine list, and the daily specials are always creative and innovative. One of my favorites is the veal and spinach risotto that has hearty chunks of veal and spinach mixed together with perfectly cooked arborio rice, usually in a white wine butter sauce. They also have exquisite Salmon and other vegetarian friendly entrees! I love to peek into the back party room to check if there are any new additions to the antique decor. I'm counting the days til the warmer season comes when I can sit at a table outside and watch the world go by as I nibble on my gazpacho and zucchini crostini!!    [30 Mar 2001 00:37:45]
