Bertha's Bertha's Diner in the heart of North Buffalo is a neat little diner with a 50's theme and good food. We surveyed the album covers of old blue eyes, and others that were on the wall behind the counter. Soda was served in a large glass and available for free refills. Commissioner Corky and I had the James Dean, which was Cajun chicken breast (2) with lettuce and tomato and a hard roll, with fries as a $1.00 extra. Cheap. Brother Rice had the patty melt on rye and it looked great. The fries tasted as if they were cut fresh and were served hot. The chicken was very tasty. The total for our group was $22.00 with three sandwiches three fries and multiple soda refills. Bertha's is a great little diner hidden on Hertel Ave, but for one afternoon we felt as if it may have been paradise. [15 Mar 2006 14:32:04]
