Tired of the hype
We visit the East end each year with another couple who likes this restaurant. Each year we oblige and go. Each year we leave saying it's not as good as before. Yes, this used to be a great place but it is just not there anymore. The best dish each year is the fried zucchini. This year i tried the rabbit, and it thumped on the floor...too salty. My wife had the fish..."B" list entree.

What a letdown!
You've heard the hype about a "great" new movie. Then when you see it you wondered what everyone was talking about. Well that's how I feel after my experience and Nick & Toni's this past weekend. I ate at the East Hampton restaurant and left with one wish--I should've just ordered room service. The girl who was working the front was rude and didn't care too much about the patrons or her job for that matter. Her cracking and snapping of the gum in her mouth was one thing. The rude manner in which she gave me directions over the phone should have given me an indication of the service to come. Our waitress was friendly but said "No" to the requests my date and I had. "Can you add mushrooms to my entree?"--"no" "Can you add shrimp or lobster to the pasta?" --"no" "Can you put the dressing on side"--"we usually don't but if you must have it on the site then O.K." After dinner the busboy tossed a couple of dessert menus on our table. One was filthy, and had grease and food in the middle. Although the food was alright--nothing to rave about--the service was terrible.This is one restaurant that I will not recomend or be dining at again.    [14 Sep 2004 13:28:37]
