Between the live jazz and affordable prices, Arturo's is your best bet for a pre-Angelika dinner. - CitySearch, Rachel Fishman - suggest change

Crispy, charred perfection I've been coming here since my early teens when I would take the subway to "the City" from Queens. The room harkens back to beatnik days, with jazz packed jukebox, ice cold beer, and one of the best pies you can eat. Rich, vibrant sauce, gooey cheese, over the showstopping crisp, charred crust. And there's an old bathtub in the rest room. [25 Sep 2003 08:13:42]

Used To Be Great. We've been coming here for over 20 years, haven't been here recently, so we were so excited to come again after a 2 year lapse. This used to be our ultimate favorite pizza, but they must have gotten a new chef. It was terrible!! Our all time favorite was the basil pie, it would come with the basil cooked inside. This time, they just sprinked some cold, chopped basil on top. We couldn't find a trace of olive oil in the pie, and basically it tasted as if we were eating burnt cardboard with canned tomato sauce and a tiny bit of cheese with a cold salad on top. Horrible! We were SO DISAPPOINTED. Oh, and the bathroom was filthy with no soap in sight. Well, the search continues for our new favorite pizza joint. [31 Dec 2007 16:45:40]
