Consistently delicious
I try to stop at Ben's every time I get to New York as their pizza is consistently good yet different from the usual excellent New York pizza. Ben's has two styles, the standard round Neapolitan pizza, which is great, and a rectangular style that is quite different from the Sicilian pizza it visually resembles. Though I normally have "straight" cheese pizza in New York, at Ben's I get the rectangular variety with several toppings, and have never had a bad slice there. It's very thick yet light, always fresh and seasoned perfectly. Purists might sneer at a non-standard pizza like Ben's but the taste is what counts, and Ben's is as good as nearly any pizza I've ever had.    [21 Jul 2005 17:33:50]

The Best!
I've lived in New York, Chicago, and Seattle and travelled all of Western Europe and some of Asia and it's just a plain empirical fact that Ben's is the best pizza on the planet at this point in time. When you're in NYC, visit Ben's on Mac Dougal, just one block south of the chess area in Washington Square Park. Otherwise, please don't say you've visited NYC!    [06 Jun 2007 22:00:33]
