Good Eats and Atmosphere. After picking up the girlfriend from work, we went searching for a new bar whose kitchen would be open at 11pm at night or later. Three blocks away, I see a sign for Fanelli's Cafe, a cute little place that seems to just radiate "good food and drink" Easy parking, and we get a table right in the corner next to the door. Pretty college girls and grizzled locals filled the place, but it wasn't loud, and wasn't a place tourists would stop. Decor was just a regular bar, nothing pretentious, which was just what we were looking for. Service was prompt and friendly from our perky, smiling waitress. Food came out at a reasonable time, and was good. An all day breakfast menu always his the spot. The three-egg omelette with bacon and tomato was easily shared, along with a plentiful portion of French fries, and backed seasoned wings. While I couldn't pinpoint the flavor at first of the seasoning, my girlfriend commented that while the wings were a touch salty, (as all wings are wont to do) she loved the seasoning. They reminded her of a native Thai dish, which we both loved. I hope she gets off work late again another night, so I have another excuse to stop there for some good food and try their burgers, which I hear are great. [25 Feb 2008 13:07:22]
