Best Southern Indian Food in Manhattan
Madras Mahal is hands down my favorite Southern Indian food in Manhattan. Born and raised on Manhattan, I'm used to Northern Indian food. The crepe-like dosas, pizza-like uttapam and lentil donut vadai in sambar are tasty treats for a jaded vegetarian.

The new decor makes it an interesting date place. Have them bring you masala cashew nuts with your taj majal beer as you figure out what you want to order.    [13 Feb 2001 20:03:31]

Can't Get Any Better Than This
Dosa at Madras Mahal is simply the best in the world. Trust me when I say this, since I travel all the time around the world and I always have a craving for South Indian food; so after tasting dosa at Madras Mahal it has become very hard to fulfil my dosa desire anywhere else. That place also serves great northern curries they are so delicious; especially try malai kofta and palak paneer - Awesome!    [15 Aug 2006 01:44:58]
