Need a quick diner soulfood fix? Pan Pan's food is said to be "nothing to write home about" in the words of more than one soulfood maven, but it's across the street from Schomburg Library and Harlem Hospital, and everyone agrees it's a fun place. - CitySearch - suggest change

Pan Pan Restaurant has the best Soul Food in the Country! Pan Pan Restaurant is so good! My friend and I went to eat there last week when we were in NYC on a business trip! We ended up eating there everyday! The ambience is not great but the place is fun and the food makes it worth the trip! If your in NYC, Pan Pan is a must! [29 Sep 2003 10:54:35]

Pan Pan's food is excellent! I eat at Pan Pan all the time. In my opinion, it is the number one place to eat in New York. It certainly is the best soul food I've ever had. I love the friendly atmosphere and all of the people who go there to dine. [18 Oct 2003 12:51:53]

I can't yet say that I've eaten a whole lot there, but the coffee and bagels (especially when toasted and schmeared with cream cheese) are good. Hopefully its newfound fame in Alicia Keys' "You Don't Know My Name" video won't make an already crowded place even worse. [08 Jan 2004 14:12:31]

Absolute BEST Breakfast On The East Coast! What a great place! The pancakes are heavenly, home fries are yummy, bacon is great, grits are fantastic, and they have the sweetest and best red fruit punch you can find. TRUE Southern style cookin' in Harlem! The eggs left a little to be desired, and the service, well, it's down home service- if you don't know what I mean by that, then just take your patience and sense of humor when you go.
It's small inside, and seating is very tight and close together. [23 Mar 2004 15:31:24]
