Best Pizza in NY
...or maybe anywhere! Great crust--crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside! Great sauce, too, and wonderful cheese that somehow tastes better than regular mozzarella...they must do something different! Huge slices and generous toppings, too. Excellent, like most New York pizza
Ray's is one of the many reputedly "best in New York" or "best in the universe" pizza joints, and I believe this is the Ray's to which these accolades are intended to apply. (There is widespread confusion about which Ray's is the real Ray's.) The pizza here is excellent but only slightly better than average for New York, and I think it's topped with too much cheese, so much that I have on more than one occasion nearly choked while eating it. If you're there, get a slice, otherwise the corner pizza joint will do nearly as well if not somewhat better, and you'll probably pay less.    [21 Jul 2005 17:59:02]

Ray's at 465 6th Ave is unforgetable
Ray's at 465 6th Ave is unforgetable. I moved to NC 9 years ago, and still talk about Ray's. My wife and kids have never eaten there, but, feel as though they have. I can't wait to take then there next time we are in NY.    [06 Jan 2006 15:24:09]
