Travel miles each year to enjoy a piece of my childhood
I use to visit Rudy'S every yr when my family went to visit my aunt and uncle each summer. I loved it so much and last year I was able to share it with my two girls and husband. Of course they fell in love with Rudys as much as I have . So believe it or not we are coming all the way from NJ (about 8 hrs away) again this yr for a few days to visit Rudys; to enjoy that great fisH,chocolate milk, and of course to throw rocks into the most breath taking beautiful lake you could ever experience. Please never go out of business Rudys, I do hope to enjoy your place for many yrs to come and someday share a piece of my childhood with my grandchildren as I do with my kids now!!! :-)    [11 Aug 2003 22:18:14]

Rudy's & Lake Ontario: A Win/Win Combo
I've been going to Rudy's since I was a toddler. It's always a sad day when they close for the season. I make sure to stock up on their famous Texas Hot sauce to get me through the winter. My brother-in-law loves it so much he sometimes makes the 3 hour drive just to have lunch there. Friends who went to college there years ago place their orders for sauce whenever I'm going back to visit. You just can't compare the Rudy's experience...it's the BEST! If you go, make sure you throw stones or skip stones on the lake, it's traditional!    [27 Oct 2003 19:52:46]

CANT WAIT FOR ANNUAL OPENING
Rudy's is the best spot for summer fare in Central New York. I look forward every spring to visiting home and that first trip to Rudy's! Who cares if it's so cold you have to eat in your car!!
Give me a fish tail and a cold soda and I'm in heaven.    [14 Mar 2004 20:27:55]

Rudy's, not what it used to be
I have been going to Rudy's since the late 50's, when my parents had to carry me in. It has always been one of my favorite places, especially to have my
"fish hot" sandwich, which is not on the menu and you have to be, or once was, a local to know about.
We stopped there today to give me a treat as business took us to Oswego, and wound up spending $20 and leaving hungry. The amount of fish in my 2 hots I called supper didn't equal what they used to put in 1 sandwich. My tiny wife left hungry, and she had always in the past fought to finish the 1 fish she always gets. This may have been my final trip there, as I thought they were getting cheap last year. Could have drove another 15 minutes and gone to the Golden Corral in Fulton, all you can pack away buffet including thhe steak! Sorry Rudy's, I can no longer subsidize your owners privilaged life style.    [14 Apr 2004 20:02:55]

What happened to Rudys?
So it's not just me! Seeing it was a nice night tonight, I opted to take my mother out to the lake and to Rudy's...and I'd love to know what happened to the fish??? That was the smallest fish sandwich I had ever seen! And you had to wonder if it was even haddock? The fries portion shrank, they served a soda in a 16 oz bottle, and the straws were too short, and they dropped right in the bottle and you couldnt retrieve it!

What kills me is that Rudy's isnt LOW cost at all, it's not an inexpensive place to eat, and the portions just didnt match the prices at all. I was very disappointed. I attended SUNY Oswego 20 years ago, and this is a pale shadow of what Rudy's used to be.    [19 May 2004 23:31:56]

Why all the whining? Rudy's still great for food.
We went tonight and my pit of a son who can usually pack away two of the sandwiches was happy with one. They are good sized pieces about 6-8 inches long 4 inches wide. And thick. I had clams and my grandfather the sweetcorn which he swears gets better every year. Mozzarella sticks for my son's sandwich and the grand total? $16.66 Not bad at all.    [15 Aug 2004 17:28:19]

Seems the same to me.
I've been going to Rudy's since my college days in the 60's. Everything seems just as good to me.    [05 Mar 2005 08:34:52]

Rudy's is great!
I can't imagine what Joe from Syracuse is talking about. We went to Rudy's for the first time last week and I could hardly finish the fried haddock, it was so big. Everything we ate there was delicious, reasonable and ample.    [11 Jul 2005 09:49:27]

I remember Rudy's with a smile
I visited Rudy's for my only trip there back in 1993 ...and I have always
wanted to return.
I was visiting my relatives in Mexico, and we decided on Rudy's for our supper.I really enjoyed the food and the incredible spectacle of the lake.We had made our visit during their
last week of the year before closing.I returned home to North Carolina less than 2 weeks later with warm thoughts of Rudy's .....    [15 Oct 2005 11:18:14]
