Amazing Food - Excellent Atmosphere Olives is a fabulous dining experience set in the village of Pittsford, Schoen Place. The quaint atmposphere makes you feel as though you are in Greece! The lighting is low and romantic. The dishes are fun and unique...everyone is different. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food - nothing short of amazing! [24 Jul 2004 00:19:49]

Nothing special - and rude management The food is just so-so (maybe if you're from a smaller city like Rochester it seems better than if you're from a city with a larger Greek population), the restaurant is cramped and noisy, and the management was rude to my father on a recent (and LAST) visit. They do not accept credit cards, which we were reminded of in a very rude manner by their manager. I could forgive the restaurant the so-so food and loud atmosphere if it had not been for this rude experience. [19 Sep 2006 22:16:21]

Good Food and Reasonable Prices You can't go wrong at Olives. We have visited many times and have sampled much of their menu. We highly recommend this restaurant. [28 Sep 2006 17:57:00]

Suprisingly Bad Service. Rushing waiter not wine knowledgeble and made error on wine order. Hostess/owner? more concerned with "policy" and saving three dollars than customer satifaction. Totally amazed me and even after I politely conceeded and paid the bill while walking past the hostess and waiter sitting at a bar table on the way out the door they did not say goodbye or thank you as we left. Better service at Burger King! [27 Oct 2007 00:12:56]

Unpretentious Olives is not gourmet Greek. The wine selection is not for the connoisseur. The subterranean cafe can be loud or warm or cool. If you would like a taste of homestyle Greek dishes or an inovative twist on one which is usually very traditional, if you would like to taste a Greek red or white, if you can remark that Yaya would have rolled her own filo - Olives is for you. In and out with a glass of wine and tip under $20 for dinner. What more could you ask? A lot of fun. At 6:00 on weekends this little cafe is jammed. Wait until 8 or 8:30 and you'll have a more enjoyable time. [07 Jan 2008 17:21:17]

Consistent and Enjoyable Have been going there for years on a regular basis; highly recommend the quality and presentation of food. Service has always been very good. Great for weekday lunching; you can have a tasty meal within an hour.
The spinach-orzo soup is to die for. Can't go wrong there for lunch or dinner. It is small and tucked away, but that is what makes it nice. [10 Jan 2008 16:23:36]
