Not What It Used to Be
The ices are not made with the same quality that they once were. They used to make their ices with fresh fruit. Now the fruit cocktail ice is made with tiny pieces of what tastes like fruit skins.

The service is rushed and the staff not too friendly.

I would recommend trying one of Queens other ice houses.    [14 Apr 2002 17:17:51]

Excellent Ices, Fair Prices
Love it! We drive all the way from New Rochelle at 9:30pm to get ice after work. Well worth it. The peach is delicious.    [22 Jun 2002 22:32:21]

Peanut Butter Is OK
Just OK. I went to Queens this last weekend with a friend for some peanut ice. He was really enthusiastic - almost hysterical - about the whole thing, so I thought I'd give it a try. But frankly, to me, the peanut ice tasted kinda heavy. After eating just half a scoop I had to sit down and rest on a park bench, it felt so heavy. Kids kept whacking bocci balls into my shins, but I was so bloated and cramped that I just couldn't move. What the hell.    [08 Jul 2002 17:21:05]

Best Ices
I live about 10 minutes from the ice king. His ices are good, fruit cocktail is the best! Im a little dissapointed with the lack of fruit in the ice. Still I love going there. It's a family affair, we stand on the corner and eat like six 80 cent ices.    [27 Jan 2003 20:59:57]

To My Surprise
My son, Steve, with his partner, Troy, invested a few hundred dollars in a tent and a couple of freezers and bought tins of Lemon Ice King's products and started selling at church carnivals here in South Florida. This week end I went to his set up to help him for the day and was shocked at the number of people here in Florida that came up to our stand to order and commented that they knew the product and was glad to see Mr Faremo's True Italian Ices here. I am so impressed with the good response this item got that I'm now going to invest and open up a few more sale sites here in Miami and Broward County. We gave out small sample taste cups to the folks that didn't know what it was or which flavor to order. Every single one that tasted it ordered the ices. Good show...    [21 Feb 2003 14:48:08]

Best
I grew up in Corona and every day I used to walk up to the Lemon Ice King, which was on the corner of my block, to get an ice. Bubble Gum was my fav - that, and chocolate. I moved, but everytime I go to NY that's the one place I want to go.    [07 May 2003 21:46:38]

Great Ice
The Lemon Ice King is the best. I love going there in the summer and buying 4 large ices. Nobody beats The Lemon Ice Kings ices. Try the best. The customer service is great. The Lemon Ice King is the symbol of Corona.    [30 May 2003 15:19:17]

Going Home
I went back to Corona after 40+ years. My first stop was the Lemon Ice King. Except for the fact that the owner is older, shorter than I remember and no longer wears a large straw hat, everything else was as great as I remembered. I don't intend to be a stranger anymore. I would love to contact people I grew up with. My name is Agnes Marie Prato (I use Marie now) and I lived at 108 st. 53rd Avenue in the early 50s to probably 1960. I went to St. Leo's School.    [28 Jun 2003 14:08:04]
