Good mix of Chinese/Thai Food Well above average tradational chinese selections along with a good assortment of Thai favorites. Very reasonable prices, a relaxed atmosphere, and excellent service. Some of the fried entrées can lean toward the greasy side, but overall an excellent restaurant. [29 Oct 2004 17:17:05]

Chen Garden This is excellent Chinese food in the city of Rochester. They have all the classic dishes with their own specialties. The owner is there and makes sure you are comfortable and have a good meal. They bring you pleny of rice and food. It is a small place, but not too small where you feel crammed together. They did a great job decorating. Everybody I have recommended the place to thoroughly enjoys their meal and the experience. [14 Feb 2005 15:44:07]

Our Favorite Chinese Restaurant ANYWHERE Honestly, when we lived in Upstate New York we drove 1-1/2 hours each Friday to dine at Chen Garden (for about 10 years) -- blizzard or not. The food is the best we've had anywhere, including China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. No one takes better care of you than the owner and his colleagues. Now we live in Toledo and we still drive out of our way to stay in Rochester and eat there at least 2 or 3 times a year. It is one aspect of New York we REALLY miss! [14 Dec 2006 14:07:32]

Chen's Garden Will Grow on You! My wife and I are Rochester natives now living in Atlanta. One of the few things we miss is dining at Chen's Garden, quite possibly the best Chinese food on the planet! Add a very personable owner, excellent staff, and an unusually warm and cozy atmosphere and you have it all! Just thinking about it makes me want to get on a plane and get there for dinner!
