Shippy's resturant is my favorite resturant ever
If you ever go to Shippy's you have to order the steak and fries. THE BEST EVER. I drive from the city to South Hampton just to have this meal. If I knew I was going to die tomorrow I would want their steak and fries as my last meal, maybe some sushi too. (There is no sushi at shippy's)    [02 May 2003 11:00:35]

No kidding : the place to be.
Just don't take my table.

Sweet as all get-out staff, very willing to accomodate weird requests.

Fresh fresh seafood, cooked very well. Swordfish steak, soft shelled crabs, any specials -- snap them up at Sag Harbor (?) prices. Not your fancy-pants Southampton (decor tends towards the homey English pub) but right in town. And, yes, not your fancy-pants Southampton -- but thank God for that.

Good place to go before/after a movie, or to bring a bunch of friends for a reasonable dinner.

If it stays the way it is now, Shippy's will be around, serving the weekenders and the townies until the End of the World. As much a part of the Hamptons as Billy Joel    [10 Sep 2003 22:44:28]

No Place Else I'd Rather Be
Yes, the food is beyond question the best I could ever want. The service is attentive, the food comes quickly, and the waitstaff aims to please. I also feel good that I'm amongst people who really appreciate the best. Where would I want to spend any Saturday night or any holiday weekend at? Shippy's.
