The food is made fresh and on premises, no pre-made chain food here. There are a number of vegetarian entrees. A full bar, including over 30 different tequilas, a large number of Irish whiskeys and single malt Scotch. 10 draft beers and a small but excellant wine list. Well known for treir Margaritas, made from tequila, triple sec and only fresh squeezed limes, never any sour mix! There is regular live music. [05 Mar 2006 17:00:42]

Delightful Space; Delicious, Affordable Meals What a warm and wonderful space to have drinks with friends after work, or to enjoy a pleasant meal without breaking the bank. They have some pretty interesting liquors behind the bar, and a warm and friendly staff to assist you. [12 Apr 2006 10:43:48]

The Worst Restaurant Experience Ever With so many wonderful places to dine in the Capitol District, why would anyone want to go somewhere to be abused? From the waitstaff in both the bar & dining room - to the owner (what nerve this guy has!!)- awful! The drinks are ridculously over priced & served in shot glasses! I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. [16 Dec 2006 14:30:01]

Jose Thanks You [Note from restaurant owner regarding previous post "Delightful Space; Delicious, Affordable Meals"]
I am glad you loved visiting our restaurant. The spinach and mushrooms is one of my favorites. If you liked that the next time that you are in try the potato mushroom chile relleno in a ancho/quajillo chile sauce! [12 Jan 2007 17:06:46]

Jose Malone's Mexican Irish Restaurant [Note from restaurant owner regarding previous post “The Worst Restaurant Experience Ever”]
I am glad you liked the ambience at Jose Malone's Mexican Irish Restaurant. We strive to make the restaurant and pub a comfortable place to be. I would like to clear up a couple of points though.
We don't serve drinks in shot glasses. We use 10 ounce rocks glasses and 9 and a quarter martini glasses for our frozen margarita. Our menu carefully explains that our margaritas are cocktails and not kiddy drinks filled with cheap sour mix. We do use fresh squeezed lime juice. We do not serve "well" liquor, only call or top shelf.
We rarely serve any drink in a shot glass. Since we have many premium liquors we serve them in 4 ounce shot glasses (with a normal size serving) for a fuller experience of the bouquet. We have a wide range of liquors. Our most expensive is Patron Gran Platinum which an area restaurant sells for $48 a shot and we sell for $28!
We are hoping our guests come here to enjoy a quality experience and if they just want to get wasted there are a number of dives nearby. We even had a customer grab a bottle of vodka from the bar and fill up their pint glass once! (shortly before your post and we did have to remove them amidst threats). But no, no drinks in shot glasses! [23 Mar 2007 17:29:54]
