Won't Be Back at the Wawbeek
Recently spent a weekend at the Wawbeek and couldn't wait to eat at their restaurant, all the old guides touting its cuisine. What a disappointment! Had steak that was flavorless, slapped with bland onions and mushrooms, a nondescript salad, and a waitress that removed my wine glass before I had even finished. Dessert was typical of the pre-made fabricated death by chocolate or white raspberry cakes. Nothing homemade that one would anticipate from a place that charges $300 a night. No apple pie or anything associated with a good, crisp fall harvest. To say this place served mediocre food would be pushing it.    [17 Oct 2006 06:13:44]
