Valhalla Crossing
Drinks are pricey. $9.00 and up for rum/cokes, martinis, and mixed drinks in pint glasses. Beer $4. About $9 pitchers. $6 happy hour special. Some decent beer specials during games.

Salads are a little overpriced, but they are quite large.
Appetizers are great. For the most part all the food served is good.

Happy hour needs better deals, maybe a 1/2 price entree or something. They are slow to keep hot food out for happy hour.    [04 Jul 2006 12:05:04]

Do Not Go to Valhalla Crossing
I went to Valhalla Crossing excited to have a good meal and ended up getting called an "[expletive deleted]" by the owner, who then said, "Sorry, you weren't supposed to hear that."

Here is what happened:

I ordered penne vodka with chicken. It came with garlic bread, and the second I bit into the garlic bread I tasted nicotine and smelled smoke. I put the bread aside and mentioned nicely to the waitress that the bread smelled like smoke and I wasn't going to eat it. I declined her offer to get me more.

Then I realized there was no chicken in the penne, and that would have been fine except the dinner didn't taste like anything. It was the most tasteless penne vodka I've ever had - and this was $18.

Not to mention the fact that my guest didn't like his dinner, I let the manager know that I was disappointed in the food and she was completely defensive and did not even apologize. She said she tasted the bread and there is no way I could have smelled smoke. She apparently mentioned to the owner that we were 'difficult' (even after I gave the waitress a 20% tip - I'd been a waitress for years and know how hard it is) so on the way out, we heard him call us "[expletive deleted]s".

We questioned him and he said, "Oh, you weren't supposed to hear that." I went to shake his hand and he said, "No, I think it's time for you to leave."

Unbelievable. I will never go back to that restaurant and I hope you won't either. What a miserable experience. Please do yourself a favor and never dine there.    [29 Sep 2006 21:20:11]

I Dined There Tonight - Chilean Sea Bass... Superb!
Valhalla Crossing is a quietly elegant bar and restaurant. After having a nice Pinot Noir at the bar I ordered an appetizer of steamed dumplings which really were delicious. The ginger broth that accompanied it was so tasty that after the dumplings were gone I had to taste more of the remaining broth with my fork! For dinner I had the Chilean sea bass served with couscous and spinach and mushrooms. It really was a healthy portion and superb in taste. The bar had live entertainment who played music from Pink Floyd and The Allman Brothers to lots of others that I cannot think of at the moment. All in all it was a great way to spend a Friday evening. Friendly service, too!    [23 Mar 2007 23:48:11]

Awesome!
We've driven by this restaurant for years (we live in White Plains) and recently stopped in for dinner - The inside is beautiful. The new owners took over 2 years ago and what a great job they are doing! The coconut shrimp appetizer is our favorite, and the shrimp cocktail and little necks are great, too. We love soaking up the broth of the little necks with the garlic bread that comes with them.

As for dinner: We've had so many of the dishes over the past month! Their burgers are the best and our favorite entrées are the Madeira chicken with broccoli and mashed potatoes and sirloin steak - We ask for onion strings on top and they are happy to accommodate us. Our favorite salads are the Cobb salad and BBQ ranch chicken salad.

Desserts: We love the S&S NY style cheesecake, but our favorite is their homemade brownie sundae. Three of us share it! Their fried banana cheesecake in a tortilla with ice cream is great, too!

Service: Very friendly and accommodating.

Atmosphere: Warm and beautiful!

An awesome place. Give it a try!    [26 Mar 2007 08:50:53]

What a Great Find
Convenient location so I met a friend there for a drink and then we were going to have dinner at another restaurant. It was so quaint and nice inside that we decided to just stay there for dinner. What a great decision. The food was incredible. Valhalla Crossing is my new favorite restaurant!    [29 Mar 2007 11:23:06]

Great!
Great place to bring my kids. The hostess got us a table where they could watch the trains - that kept them entertained! The food was marvelous and service friendly. The marinated Steak sandwich is unbelievable! I definitely recommend this place!    [28 Apr 2007 13:25:44]
