Description

Catalfino's is a scratch pizza/pasta eatery opened in 1996 by Jim Catalfino. Located in the Cannon Center, a small shopping center on Refugee Rd. about 1/3 mile east of Gender Rd. Although it has a Canal Winchester mailing address, the restaurant is in the city of Columbus. They acquired a liquor license in 2000, which Jim Catalfino stated in The Columbus Dispatch would help fill the 90 seats in his restaurant. Beer and hard alcohol served, unsure on status of license to sell wine.

'The Champion' makes name for Catalfino's - The Pickerington Times-Sun, By MARK CARLSON , 5 April 2006; Catalfino's Pizza & Pub, 6784 Refugee Road, recently took home a second-place prize in the 2006 North American Pizza Pizzazz Competition held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Catalfino's owner James Catalfino entered both competitions, but took home the second-place prize in the gourmet category, finishing behind EJ's Neighborhood Pizzeria & Italian Eatery in Cypress Texas. The Champion is a pizza topped with pepperoni, ham, salami, bacon, italian ground beef and sausage, ricotta and provolone cheese. Catalfino entered his best selling pie, named "The Champion" because it has won numerous awards in pizza competitions. The pizza is a three-time winner of the Columbus Pizza Challenge. "I was excited and really happy," Catalfino said of his placement at the competition. "It feels real good when you know you brought a good recipe down, made a good pie and everything worked," Catalfino said. "It's a good feeling." - suggest change

Good Service, Atmosphere & Food
In my experiences at Catafino's over the years, full-service has always been exceptional, atmosphere is comfortable and offers a gameroom, small bar area, and tv's visible from every direction. It's a comfortable and casual place with traditional pub appetizers and good pizza.    [07 Sep 2004 14:24:29]
