Great lunch, great food, great prices My husband and I were headed down to see the Tall Ships and came across this gem. We walked right in and were seated right away (Sunday, just after 12:30pm). Even being seated in the middle of the dining room, we still had a nice view of Cleveland's harbor.
My husband had a Hornblower burger, which was loaded with cheese, peppers, and mushrooms. The toppings were falling out from how loaded up they were. The burger came with these fried potatoes that were delicious!
I had the Cashew Chicken Salad on a Croissant. It came with a bowl of fresh fruit - pineapple, canteloupe, honeydew, and grapes. The chicken salad was delicious, and the cashews complement the chicken well. The fruit was juicy and sweet.
Their list of desserts tempted us - creme brulee, key lime pie, as well as some of their own specialties. However, we didn't have room after lunch.
When we stopped back after visiting the Tall Ships, we were told that they had stopped serving food (3-4pm).
We'll be back to try their tempting desserts! [19 Jul 2006 19:09:35]

Great desserts as well! My husband and I were shopping downtown today, and we stopped at Hornblowers for lunch. We both went with a cup of the shrimp and crab bisque - simply delicious! It really hit the spot on a cold day like today. My husband had the mahi special, with a fruit chutney, over rice. The sauce was a bit sweeter than I expected, about as sweet as the sweetness of sweet and sour sauce. The rice though was well flavored. I had the tilapia, in a tomato-cumin sauce, on a bed of saffron rice. I didn't see any mention on the menu that the rice would be cooked in a wine of some sort, but the flavor of a wine was there - like a Marsala. I liked the tilapia, and the tomato-cumin sauce really went well with it. However, I was not a fan of the rice because of the wine taste.
As I mentioned in my last review, we wanted to try the desserts. I had their creme brulee, which tasted really well. It wasn't the best creme brulee that I've had, but it was good enough that I'd order it again. My husband went with the peanut butter pie. It came served with chocolate sauce on top of it. This has been the best peanut butter pie that I've had in a restaurant. Definitely worth trying! [14 Oct 2006 17:46:18]
