Description
An ex-hippy diner that has some choices for vegetarians. The menu ranges from sandwiches and pizza to falafel and escarole and potato pies. Most patrons agree the milk shakes are worth waiting for.

This place is like a weird mix of American diner and eclectic world food, from pancakes and bacon to falafel and tempeh. Greasy burger and purposely unsalted french fries? Organic sandwich? Thick, frosty milkshakes in flavors whose numbers are uncountable? Tommy's is the place to go.
Here's what I had last time I went: a strawberry milkshake, a bacon cheese burger, french fries with a side of bleu cheese dressing. The time before that: a vegan hot dog, a salad, and a chocolate shake. At least go for the shakes. They do take-out or eat-in, and there's a nifty little bookstore right next door (an entrance from the inside of the restaurant, too!)
You're going to have a field day at Tommy's. The best loved mom-and-pop macrobiotic joint in town is the place where herbivores with navel rings and carnivores in polo shirts can chow down together. []

Great Restuarant but... I'm only 14 and I love Tommy's. Great food, outstanding milkshakes but geez, the people who take you to your table - not the people who wait on you - are rude, not friendly, and kind of strange. Everything else is great. [10 Oct 2001 09:50:02]

Best Milkshakes Ever Casual atmosphere, one of the few genuinely good restaurants in the area that is family friendly. Good middle-eastern dishes. And the mocha milkshakes are a work of art. [23 May 2003 13:43:06]

Love Love Love It. I have been coming to Tommy's since the 80's, before the fire. We used to cut school in Berea and drive clear out to Cleveland Heights to eat at Tommy's.
Some of the best and most unique vegetarian cuisine in the area. We have tried most of the items on the menu, and we crave the onion soup and the spiked hommos. Lovely place. Would recommend it to anyone. My servers have always been wonderful and sometimes you can see Tommy at work. Great fun and great food. [11 Nov 2003 12:03:24]
