Mediocre Greek food with an abyssmal attitudeā€Ž
I ordered from this place several times without incident -- I did find their non-gyro items to be a tad overpriced, and the gyros themselves, although cheap, are rather small. After avoiding them for a bit, I ordered from Apollo's again because they were the only ones delivering at the time. Let me tell you why today is the last time I will be patronizing this restaurant:

I submitted my order online via thesaver.com. When selecting my gyro, I had a mandatory choice between "combo / No Thank You" I chose No Thank You. On my receipt, this is what was listed: "Gyro - Options: Make it a combo: No Thank You." Admittedly, I could see how someone could screw up and try to make this a combo. Which they did. They charged me $2.50 for some really sick looking fries and a can of coke. After my friend and I ate, we were planning on going out, but I decided to call the restaurant for what I thought would be a simple matter of getting the $2.50 taken off of my bill.

No. First, I had to explain to a very rude woman named Ellen how I did not, indeed, order this combo. After I finally got her to LOOK at what was written and read it back to me, she understood, and went off on a rant about how thesaver.com does its business and how they need to change their menu etc etc etc... to make her stop I had to interrupt her. I then politely asked her to please take the charge off my bill, since it was obvious that I did not want the combo. She retorted (with an attitude) that I would have to bring the fries and coke back in myself in order to take it off the bill. Shocked at this treatment, I struggled to find the words to ask if she was sure that was the only way and she responded very firmly that it was.

WHAT THE @#$I IS WRONG with this place? How could a restaurant treat any customer like this, especially when the mistake was on their side? When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that he would call me back when he "came in" and she hung up on me in mid sentence. Needless to say, this manager never called me.

From now on, I'll get my Greek fix elsewhere.    [28 Jan 2009 16:44:27]
