Good Stuff....
The Lasgana is excellent-maybe the best I've ever had. Very good red sauce.

Horrible Food!
We had the Italian greens appetizer and it was lettuce boiled in broth, Yes Everyone Lettuce. We told the waitress, she asked the cook and he confirmed it was lettuce. This is unreal and our pasta was watery and cold, my lasagna was small, burnt, and dry. Save your money on this one.    [05 Jan 2007 01:31:05]

I have to wonder if Bruce realizes good Italian food when he sees it. Anyone who thinks that Lasagna is small, might have a problem.

Maybe it was a bad night, but this place has been there 61 years. They know what they are doing.

Next best thing to mom's
The best meatballs next to mom's. Obviously simmered with the sauce (only way to go), the meatballs were tender - none of that "meatloaf" taste like every other joint (small & chain restaurants).
Had the spicy sauce with linguini (can't remember the name) - ordered the meatballs on the side, as it was meatless. Fabulous taste.
Lasagna - they either mistakenly gave us 2 portions, or their single portion is HUGE! Light on the ricotta (I'm a cheese person) but the plain red sauce was again, the best next to mom's.
Side of sausage was very spicy - and wonderful!
Atmosphere was old school cool - nothing fancy, just a good clean joint with nice customers and workers and tunes.
Took about 25 minutes to get the meal, but hey - at least it wasn't under the heat lamps the whole time! No complaints for freshly prepared dinners!!!
I can honestly say I will visit again, and again, and again - best Italian food outside of home I have ever had!!!    [13 Aug 2008 22:07:58]
