Very good chinese This is a small Chinese Thai restaurant. It has wonderful food and a soft atmosphere. It does get fairly busy during the lunch and dinner rush but that does not compromise the personal attention from the staff. [28 Sep 2004 16:20:46]

Golden Gem, easily overlooked, but don't overlook it. This is one of the great little gems in Columbus. It's 2 doors down from the BMV, so the atmosphere is very basic at best.
The food however, is wonderful for carry out Chinese! Heck, the food is just wonderful! The staff is very courteous and prompt. I love eating here.
To give you dishes I heartily recommend, their char siu kew is absolutely delicious. Their hot and sour soup is both hot and sour, and full of shredded vegetables, pork and tofu. Even their General Tso's Chicken is tasty, and I usually stay away from this dish.
If I have to say that there's dish or two that I have to knock on, it's their kung pao. They put eggplant in it. If you are an eggplant fan, this is a surprise, however, I don't feel that vegetable belongs in this dish. Also, their chicken rice soup, not so good.
If you want fancy decor and froo froo drinks, go eat at Tropical Bistro. If you want good food, eat here.
(BTW, decor and drinks is all Tropical Bistro has going for it, their food is lackluster, worse than Grand China, and they charge $5 more per plate.) [06 Sep 2007 18:59:14]
