volcanic three erupts tastebuds
I've been to a lot of buffets around the area, but none compare to the Evergreen Buffet. It's not the biggest, but it sure is the best. There's no gimmicks here. Just good fresh food. If you go there, you got to try the Volcanic Three. I've never tried anything like it anywhere. It literally brings tears to your eyes. It's hot and very spicy, makes anyone who enjoys spicy food want to come back for more.    [23 May 2005 00:08:58]

Good Food, poor service
The food at this restaurant is excellent. But the service is terrible. Servers bring you your drink with your bill (before you even get back from your first trip to the buffet) and basically wash their hands of you. You never see them again. They don't refill your drink or clear the used plates from your table. Tried to get the servers attention four times and he just totally ignored us. He was terribly rude. Great Chinese Buffet
Food is very good. Atmosphere is good. My only complaint is I was there for lunch and was a little rushed because I had to get back. My son wanted some dessert, but I had to leave. They wouldn't even allow him to get a cookie to take with him, unless I bought a "To Go" meal. I had already spent quite a bit for this boy who eats very little. I don't expect much of a Chinese buffet, generally, but I enjoy Evergreen. I've never had the previous poster's problem getting drink refills, and the food is quite decent. Not gourmet, but it's not priced like gourmet, either. I think asking to take something away does tend to violate the purpose of a buffet--most places will tell you the same thing. Evergreen's nothing special, but I've been going there for years and I'm sure I'll keep going back.    [08 Sep 2006 17:49:28]

Fresh Food Fast
Evergreen has a decent variety of some of the better Chinese buffet selections. The meat balls, chicken sticks, the Volcanic 3 and the dumplings are all great.
The soups are better than most buffets. The salads/fruits are good (if you eat such in a Chinese place). The softserve is always a bonus.
Could use a couple more vegeterian items for some friends I would take more often.
