Description

Castaways is located on N. High St., north of Rising Park in Lancaster, after passing the Rising Park curve bear left up a residental street at the northern edge of Lancaster (this area is referred to as The Flat Top.) This restaurant features American cuisine. Wide variety on menu including country cooking, seafood, steaks and pizza. Very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings as a popular gathering place. As a side note, look for the wildflowers in the field of the Keller-Kern Nature Park located just north of the restaurant.

Southern Style Fried Oysters!!
Castaways sits tucked away on a hilltop in Lancaster. The atmosphere is very casual, and like eating in your grandmother's dining room. It also has a country dining room flare. The service is very friendly, and the food is homemade country style cuisine. They do serve beer and wine as well. This is a place where many area locals dine and talk.    [07 Sep 2004 14:56:18]

I love Castaways! It is NOT part of a chain, definitely not corporate, but has the unique feel of a place that locals with good taste know and patronize. Castaways' burgers are excellent. They also do a great job with pizza. Most other menu offerings are under the heading of "down-home comfort food." They even have a wide variety of side dishes to complement your meal.
