For two-fisted sandwiches and nirvana-inducing deli, there's no place like Goodman's. Revered since the 1950s, not much has changed at this shrine to cholesterol. Bite your tongue. - CitySearch - suggest change

My god...it's 1954-and that ain't all bad. Goodman's is one of the coolest places in Greater Cleveland. If you walked past it you wouldn't take a second look--UNLESS it was around noon. Then you'd be trying to figure out what the heck all those people were doing in line out the door at this little hole in the wall.
Very few tables, a long counter served by ladies of a certain age, early diner decoration, and the best damn corned beef in the city perhaps is what you'll find. Yes, Corky and Lenny's in Beachwood has a well-deserved rep for corned beef, but Goodman's is right there with them. It's moist, thinly sliced, and piled high. Take one home for dinner and you may be eating the other half tomorrow.
The do make the other typical deli comfort food and it's all done with love and care.
I beg you, if you love places which transport you in time to another era, and great comfort food, don't miss Goodman's. [21 Apr 2004 18:37:04]
